You’ve read about Cesare al Casaletto here and here. If that’s not enough to make you want to drop everything and run over there, this will probably do the trick. The other night the Upstairs Vegetarian called me up and suggested that we do dinner. She offered to stop by Cesare for take out pizza pie. It was superb: maybe even better than the pizza at the Greedy She-cat. As always, the crust’s the thing and this crust was fluffy and light as could be. They had loads of flavors. I had my staple of sausage, mushroom and mozzarella (and they even indulged me by chucking a bit of red onion on top)
and the U.V. had hers with eggplant, zucchini and carrot, which looked very pretty indeed.
She ate it in about 20 seconds and was feeding her leftover crusts to my (very happy) dogs while I was just getting started.
Brilliant pizza. Super friendly restaurant. And they’ll do take out for everything on their menu. Oh drat. Now I’m having fantasies about those meatballs with pesto.
